Speakers
Christopher Axelrod, Ph.D., Director of Translational Services and Co-Director of the Integrated Physiology and Molecular Medicine Laboratory at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Dr. Axelrod will present his research entitled “Targeting Mitochondrial Bioenergetics for the Treatment of Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes.” This presentation will explore the efficacy for mitochondrially targeted protonophores as a pharmacological approach in the treatment of obesity and related diseases.
Sander Kooijman, PhD, Assistant Professor of Endocrinology, Leiden University Medical Center. Dr. Kooijman will present his research entitled “Circadian (Dys)regulation of Energy Metabolism.” This presentation will provide insight into how disruption of circadian rhythms creates underlying pathology in mice.
There will be a short Q&A session following each presentation.
