Inside Scientific Webinar – Ecophysiological Impacts of Climate Change: Performance, Fitness and Extinction
Tuesday June 15, 2021
2:00 p.m. EDT
Please join Sable Systems and our partner, Inside Scientific, for the next presentation in the Animal Behavior webinar series “Ecophysiological Impacts of Climate Change: Performance, Fitness and Extinction”. The webinar will take place Tuesday June 15th at 2:00PM ET. The registration link is below.
Speakers
Caroline Williams, PhD, Associate Professor Integrative Biology,University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Williams will present her research entitled “Ecophysiological Energy Use Models – Scaling Up to Predict Organismal Responses to Climate Change” This presentation will explore how winter climate change will impact the ecology and evolution of insects and other ectotherms, in order to predict when and where populations will increase versus decline.
Eric Riddell, PhD, Assistant Professor, Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology (EEOB), Iowa State University. Dr. Riddell will present his research entitled “Using Ecophysiology to Predict Extinction Risk From Climate Change.” This presentation will illustrate how integrative approaches that span from genes to geographic ranges might improve predictions of extinction risk from climate change, with a focus on terrestrial vertebrates.
There will be a short Q&A session following each presentation.
