Dr. Lauren Woodie is a Postdoc Trainee in the Institute for Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Woodie will present on the topic “The Physio-Metabolic Effects of Western Diet-Induced Obesity in a Male Mouse Model”.
During a live 60-minute webinar on October 1, 2020, Dr. Sharon Ladyman and Dr. Victoria Vieira-Potter shared their current research on rodent metabolic phenotyping with a focus on the effects of hormones and pregnancy on daily activity in mice.
Sable Systems International introduces the Promethion Isocage, designed for metabolic and behavioral studies using germ-free or immunocompromised mice, as well as supporting murine SARS-CoV-2 research. This biocontainment cage starts out as the Tecniplast Isocage-P, which Sable customizes with a magnetically mounted running wheel, food hopper, water bottle and body mass habitat. When integrated with the Promethion Core metabolic and behavioral phenotyping system, the Isocage provides a stress-free environment with high air-flow rates, significantly reducing acclimation time for the animals.
